CABI is an international, intergovernmental, not-for-profit organization that improves people’s lives worldwide by providing information and applying scientific expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment. Involved in this research is the Risk Analysis and Invasion Ecology section of CABI’s Swiss centre in Delémont. As part of their work, the team assesses the risks and impacts of non-native species and develops methods and strategies to mitigate their risks.

Marc Kenis is the head of the Risk Analysis and Invasion Ecology section at CABI Switzerland. He is an entomologist with many years of experience in applied and environmental entomology, particularly in the field of ecology and management of invasive insects. This includes risk analysis, impact assessment, biological control and integrated pest management. He also has particular expertise in forest entomology, parasitoid community ecology, the effects of climate change on insects and the use of insects as human food and animal feed.

Lukas Seehausen is a research scientist in the Risk Analysis and Invasion Ecology section at CABI Switzerland. He is an entomologist with a particular interest in invasive species and biological control of pest insects. His work includes surveys for natural enemies in the country of a pest’s origin, studies on the biology and ecology of pests and natural enemies, as well as risk assessments for new invasive species and potential classical biological control agents.
